gone are the days....

i am not in college anymore.

this becomes painfully clear to me in so many areas of my life.  the fact that i cannot function on 4 hours of sleep.  i don't get to nap whenever i want to.  i can't eat whatever i want and not gain an ounce....oh, wait, i could never do that......

in one sense i am still in college...."in" being used lightly.  i never graduated before jed and i got married, so ever since i've been working (slowly) taking classes through correspondence.  in the last couple months, though, our recent move to florida has made it so that i can actually go to a class-which is wonderful.  it's taught by jed's grandfather....a man that truly knows his stuff.  it's so nice to go and sit and just soak it up. 

and today i sat down to do my first test. 

oh, remember when taking a test entailed studying a few nights before, and then walking into the room to sit in peace and quiet.  i could take however long i wanted to to fill in my answers, and when finished, could easily check over my work to be sure i had thoroughly answered each question to the best of my knowledge.  not so anymore.  i put the boys down for naps around 1:30.  i got myself something to drink (and some chocolate) and settled in at the table.  i read through the questions quickly, and started in.  2:15 a squeal comes from the pack-n-play (malachi).....comfort baby, lay him down hoping for more sleep out of him....go back to work....2:25, thumping from the bedroom (titus)....scold toddler-"go to sleep, now"....back to work.  lucky for me, i picked a terrible nap day to take my test.  around 3, i decided to give in to malachi and get him up.  i hoped i had at least answered every question, and hopfully had done it somewhat well....i arrived in class tonight and sheepishly handed my papers over.  i'm sure i'll find out soon how well my new study habits work out for me.

hopefully i'll graduate before titus!
